THINGS DISCOVERED DURING THE BLACKOUT

  1. I don’t really edit any faster without the Internet as a distraction.
  2. Our gas stove uses electricity to create the spark for lighting the flame.
  3. Instant coffee is a godsend for desperate times.
  4. We subsist a bit too much on frozen foods. (Afraid to check the freezer and refrigerator to assess edibility of foods now that the power has been back on for a few hours.)

  1. Yeeeah. Luckily, we have a bunch of disposable cigarette lighters lying around. I feared for my fingers every time I lit the stove, but I was not to be kept from my coffee!
